Shark Shock

Also known as Great White Shark, Shark Widow or Peacemaker, the Shark Shock is a classic High Times Cannabis Cup multi award winning indica dominant hybrid strain. With bursting flavours of sour citrus fruits blended with spices along with a high that is backed by THC levels that soar up to 35%, this strain is delightfully calming and therapeutic, contrary to its otherwise intimidating name. Its strong genetics has been highly regarded within the medical cannabis community since the 1990s and still recognized as such today due to its higher CBD content which can reach upwards of 10%, which in part contributes to its powerful effects that help relieve and manage a variety of symptoms.

THC Content

The Shark Shock strain is an indica dominant hybrid created by crossing Skunk #1 and White Widow strains. It carries 80% indica dominance to 20% sativa, and its THC levels average between 18% to 21%. While some phenotypes have been tested to reach a high of 35%, batches are often bred to yield THC levels as low as 5%, catering more towards users that are solely attracted to its strong CBD characteristics, which averages at 10%. Its parent, Skunk #1, is another indica hybrid, and considered a cult classic. It averages at 15% to 19% THC levels, 1% CBD and 1% CBN, with 65% indica dominance to 35% sativa. Its other parent, White Widow, is yet another global favourite. A nearly balanced sativa dominant hybrid with 60% dominance to 40% indica, it has a high THC level average  between 18% to 25%, and also contains about 1% CBD and 1% CBN. As one can see from this impressive genetic lineage, there is no wonder why Shark Shock offers such potent effects and is so beloved in the medical cannabis community.

Appearance & Aroma

The nugs of Shark Shock are a pale mint green and are compact, though it has a fluffy appearance and is spade like shape. Its long, hairy pistils are a muted light brown, and covered in a nice coating of sticky resin and frosty white trichomes that can sometimes make the flowers themselves appear white in colour. Its aromas are relatively intense and predominantly include strong notes of citrus, earthiness and wood, which blend together nicely for a refreshing scent. When consuming, users will taste just as intense and rich of a flavour combination, consisting of sweet and sour citrus fruits, balanced by a woody pine, hashy spices and a hint of pungent skunkiness. Some users also identify lighter flavours of flowers, or bittersweetness that is similar to garlic.
