Northern Lights

Reigning as one of the most famous strains of all time, Northern Lights is an indica strain that is known for its extremely potent effects and distinct flowers. Although quite an old strain, it is still one of the purest indicas available today. It can easily be found in dispensaries throughout the West coast and more. The exact lineage is still a mystery but many believe it to be a mix of indigenous Afghani and Thai landrace strains. However, we know that the strain was refined to perfection in Holland before making its way back to North America. Northern Lights is a favourite for those who love being left in an extremely relaxed and dreamy state.

Effects

Northern Lights is one of the most potent strains available today. The average THC content consistently reaches 27% and can go up to 33%! Containing mostly pure indica genetics, it is a highly sedative strain that is recommended for evening use. Once smoked, Northern Lights will put you down to an extremely relaxed stupor, relaxing all the muscles in the body and easing your mind. Users will find themselves in a dreamy state that is characterized by euphoria and happiness. It will be hard to not smile once you realize how great it is. Many users also report bouts of hunger but try not to overdo it! Sleepiness is very common and if you put yourself in a food coma, it’ll be almost impossible to stay awake.

Asides from the recreational effects, Northern Lights is a great medicinal strain. With its strong and sedating effects, it can treat conditions such as:

Appearance, Aroma, and Smoke

Northern Lights bud appear extremely frosted and white due to its abundance of trichomes. These highly resinous flowers will get both your fingers and your grinder sticky. Some phenotypes also have hues of purple that complement its frosty green buds. The aroma can be described as sweet and earthy with hints of spicy pine, it is very distinguishable but nothing too unique. Being a heavy indica, the smoke can be harsh if taking big hits but otherwise is fairly smooth. Many describe the taste to be like a sweet pine.

I needed a heavy hitter that could knock back the pain of Rheumatoid Arthritis and let me sleep, and I've finally found the strain that works the best for me in this department. This yields a nice smooth smoke and pretty immediate hitting body high that will put insomniacs (like me) to sleep with a smile on their face.

    Real tasty stuff. Buds were beautiful too, bright green with bright orange hairs with some of the bigger buds containing hues of purple throughout. Had a nice smell to it but wasn't pungent. This stuff wasn't hard hitting and smoked real smooth but I think I built a bit of a tolerence by smoking the pink gas before this. Really loved this one for the taste though.

    The smell is amazing, like kush mixed with bubblegum. Best part is it tastes as good as it smells in the vape. The high is nice and lasts for a while.

    I picked this stuff up with my batch of Lucky Charms, highs were comparable but the biggest difference beyond the taste and smell was the longevity of the high and its ability to make you sleep incredibly well.

    Mine didn't look like the picture was still beautiful with crystals that reflected like glass and juicy red hairs, mine was more compressed then the pic as well.

    Overall great buy.

    This shit is fire. I rolled a thick long joint and it burned pure white till the end it was so smooth like my stool when im on a full keto diet and this is AAAA like the legend says so. Smooth like my butt on a keto diet. lemony taste, like the hand wipes at kfc smellish taste. The nugs are dense and light, cured perfectly as the discription of the bud information didnt mention. This is the real northern lights the 80s and 90s people have been waiting for to come in the mail right after a long day of work, but not so long day enough to gather enough energy to roll this bat that would only look so tiny in comparison to my long and only long enough message that im trying to put out there that this is real AAAA. shoutout to SHUSHA, JFK strain isnt the best

    Nice solid Indica for my first order. Came sealed well and at the perfect freshness. I have anxiety and problems with insomnia at times, but this stuff just erases that lol. After a certain amount it's hard to stay awake!

    I'll be trying out other stuff but I'll be coming back for more of this stuff regularly I think.

    This was exactly what I wanted when I ordered Northern Lights. The hole thing was an experience. I had looked at many NL's but I made the good choice by choosing green society's phenotype because it was good in so many ways. First, you open the bag and the room is filled with a pogent sent that is sweet and earthy yet with a spicy undertone. I was surprised by the quality of the buds, even if they we're small-medium sized, they we're complety covered in trichomes wich only announced its potency. So when i first lit NL, love it's aftertaste, honestly its a great smoke and it makes thick smoke wich i love. So this is a 100% indica and you will know it. You're body is totally relaxed, if you we're hurting, you forgot about, it believe me. All stress is gone and you are left with a feel good feeling who can lead you into a deep sleep. If you want to try a true NL, i recommend you try it here.
    Just to give you an idea, it was potent for me, and i smoke between 5 to 7g's a day.

    Ah, good old Northern Lights. How we made such buds together in the early 90's of Hamilton. Dense, mid-sized buds with a nice light dusting of crystal and just a touch of red hairs. Smooth, clean, smell is phenomenal without being overpowering and definitely has the right amount of kick.

    All too often I see or hear about how great this or that new strain is when half the time, IMO, it's bandwagoning. There are some really great classic strains that can still stand their own against whatever the latest and greatest is, they just get overlooked because they aren't the newest thing around and Northern Lights is one of those. There is a reason why it is a foundation strain of so many others that have come along since. If you're serious about learning marijuana heritage in what you smoke, you need to know this strain. If nothing more, grab a few grams to see what it's all about as not too many growers put out NL anymore and every once in a while a batch comes along that will blow anything on the podium away. This batch, although not knock you over (at least not me), is a good solid buy.
